In silhouettes, I capture living moments in my creative process. I make silhouettes rapidly with 50-75 pounds of solid clay. I push the clay around, digging through it until a figure emerges. I come back two days later, hollow it out, and make it mountable. After firing, I use color to enhance the expression, and allow the natural clay to create details in the surface. These pieces are full of intuition and spontaneity.
