One of my most challenging Escape Jars to date. While many of my Escape jars are inspired by elastic, this one takes on a more classical approach, drawing inspiration from Greco-Roman sculptures that utilize fabric in their models. This piece took about 3 months and 150 pounds of wet clay to complete. The inside is splattered with red, orange, and black marks; a metaphor for contained—and constrained—emotions.
